Those were the first words out of his mouth when he stepped into the confessional. Though he was surprised it had led to this. Led to him sitting across the table from God. Who happened to be drinking coffee.
"So, you've sinned?" God inquired casually, a lazy smirk passing across His lips, blue eyes holding so much compassion for the human across from Him.
"Yeah but I guess You already know that." Stabler pointed out.
"I do, yes. But I also like to hear My creation confess. So." He motioned for Stabler to go on.
Sitting face to face with God, Stabler confessed his sins without fear of persecution. Without the fear of judgment because as he looked into the Lord's eyes he felt a strange sense of calm as his sins spilled out of his mouth.
In the end they sat in a park together and Stabler leaned against the Creator as he old stories of old until he drifted to sleep.
...
It was morning when Stabler woke up in his bed, finding the day had started over. Rubbing his face he found himself confused. Had it been just a dream?
