Gibbs simply raised an eyebrow at the excuse, not saying anything for the moment while he waited for Tony to get settled again. Part of him was pleased that he could still make his agents jump just by addressing them. "Doing that paperwork with your feet?" he asked dryly. Not that he actually believed for a second that Tony actually had any paperwork to finish. He just wasn't sure why Tony was here, or why he was lying to him.
"I was going to go have a drink if you weren't too busy with that paperwork to join me." It was a lie, he'd had no plans to do anything but go home and work on his boat, but he needed to find out what was up with DiNozzo, so he could change his plans.
"And Tony," he said as he walked to the elevator, "don't lie to me. You're bad at it."
